DEATH ROW SURVIVOR JUAN MELENDEZ VISITS TAMPA BAY AREA
(Available for one-on-ones....)
Juan Melendez returns to the Tampa Bay area Friday and Saturday to share
his story of surviving almost 18 years on death row for a crime he did not
commit. He will speak at public events on Friday and Saturday and
privately to students at an area high school earlier on Friday. Melendez,
who was wrongly convicted in Polk County, was exonerated and released in
January, 2002. These events kick off three weeks of public education
throughout Florida in advance of the 2005 Legislative Session.
