An advocacy day in the state capitol February 7-8, 2017.
Each session includes a meal and
concludes with an interfaith prayer service.

CALLING ALL FAITH LEADERS INTERESTED IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM

The Florida Council of Churches is launching a Reform Justice Campaign with support from the Leadership Conference for Civil Rights.

The RJC will begin with a series of training sessions over the next three weeks for faith leaders to gain an understanding of the critical components of Florida’s criminal prosecution system. In the trainings we want to communicate how 5 main components together generate poverty and break up families. These components intersect to create a web of injustice in Florida and we want to orient faith leaders to the legislative efforts to reform the criminal justice system starting this legislative session. We need your voice in Tallahassee and we NEED you at the training luncheon.

Five key components that together generate poverty and break-up families that we will cover:

A. The death penalty
B. Direct filing youth
C. Ciivil citations (lack of)
D. Mandatory minimums
E. Rights restoration (lack of)

Please RSVP for luncheon
