!!!!!NEW INFORMATION!!!!!
We will walk to the Capital led by death row survivors, supporting legislators, and celebrities, including the core group of walkers who started January 21 at Florida’s death row in Raiford. When we arrive at Kleman Plaza (1/2 block from the Capitol) there will be music and a few short speeches. Then we will walk to the office of the Governor where a delegation will enter the office to present the more than 20,000 petitions gathered to date.
Gather at United Church in Tallahassee, at 1834 Mahan Dr. (Rte. 90). To get there from I-10, just exit at Rte. 90 off of I-10 and go west into town. The church is on the north side of the road – watch for our signs.
ARRIVE WEDNESDAY?
Limited space is available for those who want to arrive by Wednesday evening. If you are interested in a place to stay in Tallahassee Wednesday night, please call Shirley Poore at 850-893-6838. ALSO, everyone is invited to join the last full day of walking. We anticipate walking 9 miles on Wednesday, starting around 9am and finishing between 1 and 2pm. (Call 561-371-5204 for details on that.)
ARRIVE THURSDAY?
For those ARRIVING THIRSDAY FOR THE FINAL WALK, please try to arrive by 9:30am in order to prepare to walk the 2.5 miles to Kleman Plaza. The walk will be ON THE SIDEWALK and we will obey all traffic laws. Signs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Please remember that the key message is “TIME-OUT ON EXECUTIONS!”
CAN’T WALK?

GET BACK TO YOUR CAR?
There will also be at least one shuttle van making continuous trips between the Capitol and the church where the walk started. The shuttle will start AFTER the visit to the Governor’s office.
