What does the death row experience mean in context of the upcoming Florida Legislative Session?
THIS THURSDAY, February 17, from 7pm to 8:30pm
COME HEAR hear Juan Melendez, who was exonerated and released in January, 2002 after almost 18 years on Florida’s Death Row. This harrowing story is also an amazing and inspirational story of redemption and the power of faith and love, as told in the first person by a man who survived the ultimate nightmare.
Also discussing the Florida Death Penalty, the upcoming legislative session, AND WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT, will be Abe Bonowitz, former death penalty advocate and director of Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (FADP).
This event is FREE and open to the public. Donations to the Florida Exonerated Prisoner Relief Fund and to FADP to help cover tour expenses will be accepted. AbolitionWear will be available!

This is an all day conference (8:30am to 5:30pm). Juan will be speaking during the death penalty workshop, which starts at 1:15pm.

12:30pm in Room E352 at the Law School Campus at 1311 Miller Drive in Coral Gables. Parking without a permit in the large lot directly next to it is prohinited, but there is metered parking in the lot past the school and on the street.
ALSO, there will be a 6pm reception in the student lounge which is located on the 1st floor on the law school courtyard. After 4 pm, you can park anywhere and the lot is rarely full at that time, also the meters are free after six. There will be food and drink.
