During the next 24 hours, people around the world will come together to donate in a global day of charity: Giving Tuesday. At FADP, we are working hard to advance the movement to end executions in Florida and protect the dignity and humanity of every person impacted by the death penalty. Your support today ensures we can keep doing this work in the middle of the deadliest execution year our state has ever seen.
17 people have been executed this year. 2 more face execution this month. Not 1 has been granted a stay. This includes at least:
- 7 military veterans,
- 4 people with intellectual disabilities,
- 2 survivors of the infamous Dozier and Okeechobee schools,
- 6 men sentenced to death by non-unanimous juries,
- and 2 individuals who were unrepresented by state counsel when their warrants were signed.
For each of these executions, we organized vigils and public witness events across the state; delivered petition signatures and mobilized rapid response teams; supported impacted families and community members; lifted stories of mental illness, vulnerability, and injustice into the public record; and held the state accountable while it rushed people to their deaths.
At the same time, we expanded education and advocacy efforts in communities most targeted by the system, pushed for legislative reforms that prevent the worst injustices, and provided research and investigative support for capital cases across the state.
We could not have met this year’s challenges without you. That’s why, on this Giving Tuesday, we are asking our community to help us do something simple and urgent: Make sure next year is not another year of 19.
If everyone who receives this email gave just $1, we would raise enough money to replenish the fund we have used to pay for family travel, burial costs, and urgent support for families and community members during this unprecedented execution spree. If everyone gave $19 — one dollar for each of the 19 people Florida intends to execute this year — we could more than double our annual operating budget. This is what we mean when we say that every dollar truly makes a difference.
If you can, please give today — for the 17 people we lost, the 2 people we are preparing to lose, and for the 253 people we can still save.
As we move into 2026, we face a landscape where Florida is poised to continue executing at a devastating pace. Your belief in this work gives us strength and hope. Thank you for standing with us.
In solidarity,
Grace, Bridget, and Maria
