In two days, on Thursday May 15 at 6 pm, the State of Florida is set to conduct its 111th state-sanctioned murder and kill Glen Rogers, who endured horrific physical and sexual abuse as a child.
We are also sad to share that late on Friday, Governor DeSantis has signed yet another death warrant—Anthony Wainwright is set to be executed on Tuesday, June 10 at 6 pm for the murder of Carmen Gayheart. If Anthony’s execution proceeds, it will be the sixth in Florida this year.
Here’s what we need you to do:
URGE THE GOVERNOR TO ACT
Governor DeSantis is the single executive official who can stop Glen’s execution. That’s why we need you to send him a message today and urge him to grant a stay. You can also call at (850) 717-9337.
STAND IN SOLIDARITY
If Glen’s execution proceeds this Thursday, we will be at Florida State Prison for our vigil beginning at 5 pm, and advocates across the state will also hold vigils and protests. Join them in person or virtually to recognize Glen’s humanity. Find more information on our website.
SIGN AND SHARE OUR PETITION
On Thursday, we will be delivering your petitions to the Governor’s Office, the Florida Board of Executive Clemency, and other administrative officials. Please continue to sign and share our petition. Each signature is a stand against injustice. Each voice makes our message louder and impossible to ignore.
TAKE ACTION FOR ANTHONY WAINWRIGHT
Once you’ve taken action for Glen, please take a moment to sign our petition urging Governor DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency to stay Anthony’s execution. Stay with us for more information about Anthony and for more ways to help.
Onward,
FADP Staff
P.S. We know how much you’ve already done—showing up, speaking out, standing with us. But with the alarming pace of executions in Florida, we urgently need your support to keep going. Please make a donation today.
