They have it all wrong.
One of the fundamental aspects of our justice system is public access to information that can hold the system accountable for errors and injustices.
Under proposed legislation, the Florida Department of Corrections would be prohibited from releasing any information about the State’s purchase of the drugs used in executions. Not to the public. Not to the media. Not even to the pharmaceutical companies that oppose the use of their life-saving drugs to kill people.
