Execution Date! OCT 29 at 6pm ET – Jerry Correll

Gov. Scott has ordered Jerry Correll to be executed on Thursday, October 29 at 6pm ET. This would be the 22nd execution of a well-secured, captive prisoner ordered by Richard Lynn Scott and will break the modern record for executions carried out by a Florida governor. It is astonishingly ill-advised for Gov. Scott to order an execution date while the U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments beginning October 13 on the Hurst vs. Florida case which is expected to determine the constitutionality of Florida’s death sentencing scheme.
