Michael Tanzi is scheduled to be executed tomorrow at 6 pm.
Governor DeSantis is the single executive official who can stop this execution. Let the governor know what you think by sending him a message now and calling his office at 1-850-717-9337.
Tomorrow, we will be sending your signatures to Governor DeSantis, the Florida Board of Executive Clemency, and other administrative officials. Please continue to sign and share our petition and make your voices heard.
Michael Tanzi’s Legal Claims
Michael Tanzi’s legal team has fought tirelessly over the last weeks to argue that key evidence about Michael’s severe mental illness and brain damage—rooted in his childhood trauma and serious medical conditions—was never shared with the jury. They implored the Court to consider whether someone with such profound mental impairments should be executed when his jury was kept in the dark. Their pleas have fallen on deaf ears, with only the United States Supreme Court left to weigh in, but we won’t stop telling the truth about Florida’s broken death penalty. Read more here.
Michael Tanzi’s Spiritual Advisor Speaks Out
Our friend and FADP supporter Ernie Bono has been involved in prison ministry for decades in Florida and is currently serving as Michael Tanzi’s spiritual advisor. Please watch this powerful video from our allies at Catholic Mobilizing Network where Ernie talks about his experience since Michael’s warrant was signed. He plans to witness tomorrow’s execution.
