FLORIDA MORATORIUM TOUR
Featuring Members of
The Journey of Hope …From Violence to Healing, Inc.
“To educate and activate Florida citizens in the call for a meaningful review of Florida’s death penalty system.”
April 6 – 18, 2001
From April 6 – 18, the Florida Moratorium Tour will be making its way to cities throughout Florida. In addition to speaking with the media and a staging a public event each evening, the tour will host a “Leadership Luncheon” in most cities. Members of the clergy, local elected officials, and other community leaders are invited to attend these gatherings to hear Bud Welch (the father of an Oklahoma City bombing victim) discuss his experience of moving from violence to healing, and why he does not want to see Timothy McVeigh executed. Other speakers, including murder victims family members and death row survivors, will present their experiences, and an update on Florida’s death penalty situation will be given.
