On April 27, the Florida Senate passed SB 224 (26 yes to 12 no), which raises the minimum age to be eligible for the death penalty to 18 at the time of the crime. The House must withdraw companion bill HB63 from one committee in order to consider it on the floor, but they can also just take up the bill now passed in the Senate.
