It’s Official! Colorado Repeals Death Penalty

March 23, 2020 by Mark Elliott

Colorado Repeals!

Today, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed legislation repealing the death penalty. Colorado is now one of 22 states that have abolished the death penalty. It took a team effort. There are now 32 states that have ended the death penalty or haven’t executed anyone in more that ten years. Last year, New Hampshire abolished their death penalty in another impressive coalition effort. Please support Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty’s coalition campaign to abolish the death penalty. Support actions to end executions, death sentences, and all use of the death penalty in our state. It takes effective grassroots partnerships, actions, and commitment. With your help, we are making progress.

FADP’s targeted 2020 abolition coalition campaigns include calling on the Governor to halt executions, state attorneys to end death sentencing, and policy makers to re-direct Florida’s criminal justice funding and focus to restorative justice, healing, and public safety.

Please consider making an investment to continue the actions and progress made possible by your support.

Thanks for your help. Onward Together!
