Forgiveness Heals: Marietta Jaeger-Lane’s Story of Hope
Forgiveness heals; vengeance merely gives the wheel of violence another turn. When Marieta Jaeger-Lane’s seven-year-old daughter was kidnapped from the family’s camp tent and murdered, Marieta’s remarkable response was to choose life over death: she is has worked for years to abolish the death penalty. As part of the movement “Journey of Hope,” she takes the healing message of forgiveness far and wide. We are fortunate to be able to hear her story on Monday, March 28, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. 2487 A1A south, at 7 p.m. A wine and cheese reception follows the program. The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by Amnesty International, Pax Christi, Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (FADP), Compassion in Action, and Compassion St. Augustine.
