Warrant Signed for James Ford

January 15, 2025 by FADP

It’s always devastating to get the news, seemingly out of the blue, that the Governor just signed a death warrant. He set the execution of 64 year-old James Ford, for February 13, 2025 at 6:00pm.

Take action now: urge Governor DeSantis and The Florida Board of Executive Clemency to stop James Ford’s execution.

We know that James has been on death row for more than 25 years, and that his childhood was marred by neglect and trauma. We know that his death sentence was not handed down by a unanimous jury, and that he missed the deadline of getting his death sentence overturned – after the United States Supreme Court declared Florida’s death penalty scheme unlawful – by just 27 days. We also know he is without a doubt not the same person who committed his crimes so many years ago.

Stay with us for updates and information on how you can stay informed and make your voices heard.

This is not how we hoped to start the new year, and yet, I know that you will join me to make sure our opposition is heard loud and clear.

Onward,
Maria DeLiberato
FADP Executive Director
