As we pause for Thanksgiving, we want to express deep gratitude for your solidarity and your unwavering commitment to challenging the death penalty in Florida. This year has brought some of the harshest expansions of state killing we’ve seen in decades – and yet, time and again, you showed up. You signed petitions, amplified stories, supported the most marginalized among us, and made clear that Florida will not accept injustice in silence.
Your voice has real power. Because of this community, we’ve pushed back against harmful policies at the Florida legislature, shared ideas with our partners across the nation, elevated the humanity of people on death row, comforted the loved ones of murder victims, reunited families, collaborated with legal teams, delivered tens of thousands of petition signatures to the governor’s office, and exposed the deep flaws in this system. Progress is never easy, but together we are building a movement grounded in courage, compassion, and the belief that every life has value.
The fight is far from over, but neither is our resolve. Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for refusing to look away. And thank you for helping us move closer to a Florida that chooses justice over vengeance. We are overwhelmed with appreciation for all of you, and, while we’re sorry that we have to continue doing this work, we’re honored to be doing it with you.
With gratitude,
Grace, Bridget, and Maria
