Changing policy begins with changing understanding.

Since its founding, FADP has helped Floridians engage with the complex legal, moral, financial, and human questions surrounding the death penalty. We believe that informed communities are essential to creating lasting change, and we are committed to providing accurate, thoughtful, and accessible education to people across the state.

Whenever we are invited to speak with community groups, faith communities, schools, universities, professional organizations, or civic groups, we make every effort to participate. These conversations often begin with a presentation, but they rarely end there. Ideas shared in a classroom, congregation, or community meeting continue into homes, workplaces, and public discussions, helping build a broader understanding of the realities of capital punishment.

Our public education work includes:

  • Community presentations
  • Faith-based discussions and workshops
  • University and classroom guest lectures
  • Continuing education opportunities
  • Film screenings
  • Lunch-and-learn programs
  • Webinars and virtual events
  • Conference presentations
  • Panel discussions
  • Media interviews and public commentary
  • Educational resources and publications

Bringing Diverse Voices to the Conversation

FADP’s speakers include advocates, legal experts, exonerees, victims’ family members, faith leaders, and others whose lives have been directly affected by the death penalty. By centering lived experience alongside research and policy analysis, we help audiences understand the issue from multiple perspectives.

Educational Partnerships

We regularly collaborate with universities, community organizations, faith institutions, and advocacy partners to host webinars, public forums, panel discussions, and educational events. These partnerships allow us to reach new audiences and foster meaningful dialogue about justice, accountability, and alternatives to the death penalty.

Request a Speaker

Whether you are planning a classroom presentation, community forum, congregation discussion, conference panel, or workplace lunch-and-learn, FADP can help connect your audience with knowledgeable and engaging speakers.

Together, we can create opportunities for learning, dialogue, and deeper understanding about one of Florida’s most significant public policy issues.
