TAKE ACTION: FLORIDA Gov. DeSantis – Halt May 23 Execution

May 11, 2019 by Mark Elliott

Newly-elected Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a Death Warrant for Bobby Joe Long for the 1984 killing of Michelle Simms. The execution is scheduled for Thursday, May 23 at 6:00pm ET.

Please contact Gov. Ron DeSantis and urge him to stay the execution of Bobby Joe Long and sign no more Death Warrants.

Long is a disabled veteran who received a 1980 VA Military Service Related Disability for “Traumatic Brain Disease” due to active duty accident in 1975. He received little or no treatment from the military or the VA for his Traumatic Brain Disease. The crime for which he was sentenced to death occurred in 1984
